This policy explains what personal data Siley Advisory collects, why we collect it, how we look after it, and the rights you have over it. We’ve written it in plain English — if anything is unclear, just ask and we’ll explain.

3. What we collect PP3
We only collect what we need to respond to you and run our business:
- Enquiry data — the name, email address and message you submit through our contact form.
- Communication data — any emails, phone calls or messages you send us, and our replies.
- Client data — where you become a client, the business and financial information you share with us so we can carry out the engagement.
- Technical data — your IP address and basic browser information, processed by our website host and by Google Fonts when the page loads.
- Consent data — your cookie choice, stored in your browser (see our Cookie Policy).
We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we do not collect special-category data through this website.
4. Why we process it & our lawful basis PP4 · PP5
Under Article 6 of the UK GDPR we rely on the following lawful bases:
| What we do | Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Respond to your enquiry | Reply, arrange a scoping call, provide a quote | Legitimate interests (responding to a request you initiated) |
| Deliver our services | Carry out an advisory or operations engagement | Performance of a contract |
| Keep financial records | Invoicing, accounting, tax compliance | Legal obligation |
| Optional analytics | Understand how the site is used | Consent (only if you accept cookies) |
5. How long we keep it PP6
- Enquiries that don’t become clients — up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Client records and correspondence — for the duration of the engagement and up to 6 years afterwards.
- Financial and invoice records — 6 years plus the current tax year, as required by UK tax law.
- Cookie consent preference — up to 12 months, or until you clear it.
7. International transfers PP8
Some providers (such as Google Fonts) may process data on servers outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards — an adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not otherwise transfer your data internationally.
8. Your rights PP9 · PP10
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data where there’s no ongoing reason to keep it.
- Restriction — ask us to pause processing while a concern is resolved.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent (e.g. analytics), you can withdraw it at any time by declining cookies or clearing them in your browser, with no effect on processing already carried out.
9. How to exercise your rights PP12
Email us at [email protected]. We will respond within one month (30 days), as required by UK GDPR. There is normally no charge.
10. Complaints PP11
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please contact us first and we’ll do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):
